The short version. We keep as little as we can. We don't sell your personal information. We never ask for your name, address, or phone number, and you don't need an account to play. Your progress is saved under an anonymous ID so it survives if the app closes — connect a Google or Apple account only if you want that progress to follow you to a new phone. The only ads are videos you choose to watch in exchange for a reward; there are no banners and no interstitials. You can delete everything we hold whenever you want — here's how.

1. Who we are
Teiku Games (“Teiku Games”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent game studio. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us at any time at support@teikugames.com. That address reaches a person, not a queue.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to our mobile game SoliWords on iOS and Android, to this website at teikugames.com, and to any other Teiku Games app or service that links to it (together, the “Services”).
It does not cover the app stores themselves. When you download SoliWords, Apple or Google handle that transaction under Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, and we never see your payment card details.
3. Information we collect
An anonymous ID, from the first time you open the game
SoliWords doesn't have sign-up forms and doesn't require an account. But it does need somewhere to keep your progress, so the first time you open the game we create an anonymous account for you automatically. It is a random identifier and nothing else — no name, no email, nothing that identifies you as a person. Your levels, coins and settings are stored against it.
We're spelling this out because “anonymous” can be misleading: the identifier is still persistent, and privacy law still treats it as personal data. So it's covered by everything in this policy, including your right to have it deleted.
Information you give us
- A connected Google or Apple account — only if you choose one. You can link your anonymous progress to a Google or Apple account so it follows you to a new phone. If you do, we receive an account identifier and, depending on the provider and your choices, an email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's “Hide My Email”, we only ever see the relay address. Linking is entirely optional and the game is fully playable without it.
- Messages you send us. If you email support or use the Contact us option in the game, we receive whatever you write, plus your email address and basic technical details about your device so we can reproduce the problem.
Information created by playing
- Game progress. Levels completed, daily puzzles played, coins, hearts, boosters, experience, streaks and settings. This is stored in our database against your anonymous ID from the start — not only after you connect an account.
- Purchase records. A record of which in-app products you own, so we can restore them. See section 7.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, coarse region (usually country, derived from your IP address), and screen size.
- Usage and analytics events. Pseudonymous events such as “level started”, “level completed”, “hint used”, and session length. We use these to find levels that are broken or unfairly hard, and to see which features people actually use.
- Identifiers. Your anonymous account ID, an app-generated installation ID, and — where you have allowed it — your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android).
- IP address. Processed transiently by our hosting and analytics providers as part of delivering the Services and inferring coarse location. We do not store it as part of your game profile.
We never ask for and never collect: your real name, home address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access, precise GPS location, or health data. SoliWords requests no runtime device permissions beyond network access.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR require us to name a legal basis for each use. Here it is.
| What we do | Data used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Run the game and save your progress | Anonymous account ID, game progress, device data | Performance of a contract (our Terms) |
| Carry progress to a new device | Connected Google or Apple account identifier | Performance of a contract |
| Deliver and restore in-app purchases | Purchase receipt, account identifier | Performance of a contract; legal obligation (tax and consumer records) |
| Fix broken levels and diagnose faults | Device data, usage events | Legitimate interests — keeping the game working |
| Understand which features are used | Aggregated usage events | Legitimate interests — improving the game |
| Show a non-personalised rewarded video | App and coarse region data | Legitimate interests — funding a free game |
| Show a personalised rewarded video | Advertising identifier, ad interaction data | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Answer your support emails | Your message, email address, device data | Legitimate interests; performance of a contract |
| Prevent fraud and abuse | Device data, purchase records | Legitimate interests — protecting the Services |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed those interests against your rights and concluded the processing is limited, expected, and not intrusive. You can object to it — see section 9.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the sense used by California law. We share data only with the service providers below, only to the extent needed to run the game.
| Provider | What it does for us | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) | Hosting, database, anonymous and connected sign-in, cloud save, file storage, analytics | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Unity LevelPlay / ironSource (Unity Technologies) | Serving and mediating the rewarded videos in the game | unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | App distribution, payment processing, purchase validation | Apple · Google |
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to — for example in response to a valid court order — or to protect the rights and safety of our players or ourselves. If Teiku Games is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who would remain bound by this policy or give you notice before changing it.
6. Advertising and your choices
SoliWords is free, and advertising helps pay for it. Ads are served and mediated by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource), part of Unity Technologies.
Every ad in SoliWords is one you asked for. The only ad format in the game is rewarded video — you tap to watch, in exchange for a heart, extra moves, a joker, or coins. There are no banners, no interstitials between levels, and nothing that plays without you choosing it. Never watching an ad is a perfectly normal way to play.
- On iOS, we ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking identifier is used for personalised ads. If you decline — or never see the prompt — the videos still work, they're just not personalised. You can change your answer under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, we show a consent request before any personalised advertising or non-essential analytics happens. You can reopen it at any time from the game's Settings → Privacy screen and change your mind.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads.
A non-personalised video still involves a request to the ad network containing your approximate region, the app, and basic device information — that is what makes it possible to serve a video at all. It is not based on a profile of you.
7. Purchases
SoliWords may offer optional in-app purchases. All payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never receive or store your card number, bank details, or billing address. What we receive is a receipt or purchase token telling us that a specific product was bought, so we can unlock it and restore it later if you reinstall.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under their policies. See our Terms of Service for the details.
8. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Game progress held against your anonymous ID | Until you delete it, or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first |
| A connected Google or Apple account identifier | Until you delete your account |
| Device settings (theme, language, sound) | On your device — removed when you delete the app or erase your data |
| Analytics events | Up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted |
| Purchase records | As long as required by tax and accounting law, typically 7 years |
| Support emails | Up to 24 months after the conversation ends |
9. Your rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information (see section 10);
- Object to or restrict processing we base on legitimate interests;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave, without affecting what happened before;
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of them, email support@teikugames.com. If you've connected a Google or Apple account, write from that address. If you're playing anonymously — most people are — include your player ID from Settings → About, because it's the only way we can find your record. We respond within 30 days and we don't charge for it.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. You may still exercise the rights above.
EEA/UK residents: if you think we've got it wrong, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to fix it first.
10. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and everything attached to it in two ways:
- In the game: Settings → Account → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- On the web: follow the instructions on our account and data deletion page.
This works whether or not you've connected a Google or Apple account — an anonymous player has data with us too, and can delete it the same way.
When you delete, we remove your saved progress, your anonymous account ID, any connected account identifier, and any email address associated with it. In-app deletion is immediate; an emailed request is completed within 30 days. Purchase records that we are legally required to retain for tax purposes are kept in a form that is no longer linked to your gameplay profile. Deleting your account does not refund purchases and does not delete data held by Apple or Google about your app-store transactions.
11. Children
SoliWords is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@teikugames.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. International transfers
We are based in Israel, and our service providers operate data centres in the United States, the European Union, and elsewhere. That means your information may be processed outside your own country.
Israel has an adequacy decision from the European Commission, meaning transfers from the EEA to Israel are permitted without additional safeguards. For transfers to other countries, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism. You can ask us for details at any time.
13. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted to the people who need it. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store passwords.
No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
14. This website
teikugames.com is a set of static pages hosted on Firebase Hosting. It sets no cookies at all — no advertising, no analytics, no tracking. There are no third-party scripts, no embedded widgets, and no external font or image requests: everything the site loads comes from our own domain.
Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamp) for security and to keep the site running. These are retained for a short period and are not used to profile you.
15. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when the game changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we'll ask for fresh consent.
